The Binding of Isaac: Afterbirth † will most likely be coming to Switch, according to a recent blog post by the game’s developers on the game’s official website.
“Expect Afterbirth+ on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and one more console. Sorry no PS Vita or Wii U versions. Date? Spring 2017”.
What is this “one more console” they speak of? Logically, the Switch, unless they’re prepping a souped-up, 4K, blur effect-filled, realistic shadow version for Project Scorpio. That seems highly unlikely, though.
The Binding of Isaac: Afterbirth † (the cross is pronounced ‘plus’) will be the second content pack for the 2011 indie roguelike title. It will provide new content and support for mods, though mod support on consoles is still unconfirmed at this point.
“We’re still investigating a good method to deliver mods. It WILL NOT have built-in mod support as the tools we’ve created have some very specific requirements”, added the game’s creators in their Sunday blog post.
I’m expecting some news on a Switch version pretty soon.
