Possible proof that the Switch runs at higher clock speeds when docked

We may have have seen proof that the Switch runs at higher clock speeds when docked on Wednesday, when Reggie-Fils Aime was a guest on The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon.

Around the 7:40 mark of the video below, a sound of what is seemingly a fan stops being hears as soon as the Switch is taken off of its dock.

That falls directly in line with what industry insider Laura Kate Dale said about the dock earlier this week.

She tweeted on Tuesday that the dock connects to the console via USB-C, and that the system’s components run at a higher clock speed when docked, which allows the system to output at higher resolutions than when it is in portable mode.

“Plugging the system in the dock will also activate a small additional fan to help with cooling when run at that higher clock speed”, she said.

Is that really the sound of a fan in the video, or am I crazy?
