The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild will be getting its own official strategy guide.

Piggyback Guides shared a dark photo on Twitter, Friday, which essentially announced that they were working on said Breath of the Wild guide. “Something legendary is in the making”, declared the company in the tweet.

By the looks of it, the Zelda: Breath of the Wild strategy guide will have three different editions.

Some fans have speculated that if the guide is already finished, Zelda is going to be releasing in March.

That may be possible, but the issue with Zelda’s delayed release date is not that the game is not finished, but rather that localization is taking longer than expected.

Do any of our readers still use strategy guides, by the way?

  1. I picked up a strategy guide for Skyrim when it was initially released. I also picked up a strategy guide for GTA V when it was (I think) $3 at Gamestop. I used it to guide my way as quickly as possible to the “parachute missions”. To me, they weren’t just strategy guides, but “travel logs” for the games themselves. I’ve transitioned to getting art books instead – Valkyria Chronicles and Uncharted are two recent examples. My interests have changed from “getting through” the game to enjoying the game, and enjoying the creative design process behind making it.

So – I would prefer an “art of” book as opposed to a “how to play” book for Breath of the Wild.
