REPORT: Most of the “big” Switch games are nearly ready to be released

If a new rumor is to be believed, we shouldn’t have many droughts throughout the Switch’s first year.

GamesIndustry senior editor Christopher Dring tweeted that “most of the big Switch games are nearly ready”, according to what he’s heard.

He also specified that it’s “just a case of putting development resources on the [titles] they want out in March”.

This falls in line with many of the rumors we’ve heard so far, and actually makes quite a bit of sense.

Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Splatoon, 3D Mario, Pokémon Stars, Rabbids Kingdom Battle, Mario MakerXenoblade Chronicles X and Super Smash Bros are all close to completion.

This would result in a steady flow of first-party releases during the Switch’s first year. Half of them are enhanced ports, but maybe we’ll be hearing about more original games at Nintendo’s Switch Presentation next week!

  1. As I stated in a previous post, a Switch w/Breath of the Wild and a pro controller would be the ultimate package for me! Looking forward to next week – not sure if I’ll be up for the reveal on the 12th, but I’ll definitely be watching the Treehouse on the 13th!
