FIFA Switch is reportedly based on the game’s last-gen versions

EA took the stage at yesterday’s Switch event to announce that they were working on FIFA for Nintendo Switch. It seems as though the game may not be the same as its PlayStation 4 and Xbox One counterparts.

“It’s a huge honor and priviledge to be here today representing the passionate and talented team at Electronic Arts. For me, to be on this stage is a dream come true”, said Patrick Soderlund, the Executive Vice-President of EA Worldwide Studios. He added that he has been a massive Nintendo fan. So much so, that his first son’s middle name is Luigi.

EA may not love the Switch as much as Mr. Soderlund does, however.

The “custom-built” experience may be based on FIFA’s still-existing Xbox 360 and PS3 versions, according to Eurogamer‘s Tom Phillips, who’s been on the ball with all of his Nintendo Switch rumors so far.

Is this purely EA’s doing, or is the Switch severely underpowered?

Would you  buy it anyway?
